I hate how everyone is up in arms about increasingly violent movies and games. Violence has existed on this planet long before humans beat their first ass and it is no way a function of our more violent forms of entertainment. People who blame movies and games for violence in the world have a weak grasp on global politics as well as history. I mean, look at Africa, this is a country that is populated by millions of people who have never had the pleasure that is playing a game of Grand Theft Auto, and yet, they experience some of the most violent living conditions of anyone on earth. Lets sanction arms brokers and leave Rockstar Games the hell alone!

We don't live in caves anymore, we shouldn't act like it. In our society, there is no place for this kind of violent content. It desensitizes people to violence, and while it might not cause it directly, it can make it more common for people to ignore violence and accept it as a regular part of life. We should do everything we can to keep our children from being exposed to this kind of trash. Even adults should avoid it. They should at least try limiting violence in the media, and see if is has a positive effect.

Violent entertainment has been desensitizing people to violence for thousands of years. If you want to talk about history, remember the Colosseum in Rome? Video games are just the latest form of violent entertainment. This doesn't mean we should tolerate excessive violence in our video games any more than we'd tolerate the Colosseum today.
